Elli Travel Group is a Four Seasons Preferred Partner, and Naviva is one of the most distinctive properties in the entire Four Seasons portfolio — the brand's first all-inclusive, adults-only tented resort in the Americas, tucked into 48 forested acres on a private peninsula just north of Four Seasons Punta Mita. I stayed there in 2024, and it remains one of the most singular properties I've visited anywhere in Mexico.
Naviva has just 15 tents — deliberately small, so there's never more than a handful of guests on site at once. It sits on the same original land parcel as Four Seasons Punta Mita, just north of it on the coast, looking out across a peninsula toward its sister property. Everything about the design points toward one goal: total disconnection, at your own pace, with no fixed schedule.
It's genuinely all-inclusive — accommodations, meals, drinks, and on-property activities are covered. Spa treatments, third-party excursions, and transfers are extra. One thing worth knowing upfront: Naviva guests also get full, complimentary access to Four Seasons Punta Mita next door — its pools, restaurants, gym, and swimmable beach — with a free shuttle any hour of the day or night. Arrival
You fly into Puerto Vallarta (PVR); the transfer is a paid add-on in most promotions, not included. It's roughly a 45-minute drive — some local roads, then highway — passing Susurros del Corazón and Four Seasons Punta Mita on the way in.
There's no formal lobby. You arrive at a freestanding, open-air building — beautiful stonework, rattan furniture, dense greenery, no ocean view from here — where they meet you with a cold towel and a drink, check you in informally, and either walk or golf-cart you to your casita. It's a deliberately understated entrance; the tone of tranquility starts before you've even seen your room.
The Tent
"Tent" undersells it. Mine had a stunning living room with floor-to-ceiling glass sliding out onto a deck with a real plunge pool — deep end included, not a jacuzzi — plus a screened-in porch with a leather picnic-box bar kit and a make-your-own tequila cocktail as a welcome amenity. The bedroom opened into an enormous indoor-outdoor bathroom with floor-to-ceiling windows, an outdoor shower, and a soaking tub. Every sightline in the tent pulls your eye back out toward the sea.
The tents are tiered into the hillside so no casita looks directly into another — the privacy comes from landscaping and elevation, not distance. You won't see your neighbors even though there's very likely one below, above, or beside you.
Dining: No Menu, By Design
This is Naviva's signature and its biggest adjustment. There's no set menu — you talk to your butler or the restaurant team and they build the dish around what you're craving, whether that's huevos rancheros for breakfast or pasta carbonara at dinner, made specifically for you. Advance preferences matter a lot here; the more the team knows before you arrive, the better they can tailor the stay.
The Beach — and the Workaround
Naviva's own stretch, La Solana Beach, is rugged and rocky — beautiful for a sunset walk, yoga, or meditating, but not built for swimming. Four Seasons' own description of it is direct about that. If you want to actually get in the ocean, the fix is easy and included: guests are shuttled free, any hour, to Four Seasons Punta Mita's swimmable beach next door. It's a small adjustment in expectations, and worth knowing before you arrive rather than discovering it once you're there.
A Standout Moment
An outdoor sound bath on a yoga deck overlooking the sea, timed to start at dusk and run through sunset into full dark, with the jungle's nocturnal sounds starting up around you by the end. It's the kind of experience that only works because the property is this small and this quiet.
Honest Caveat
My stay was in 2024, so pricing and any newer additions should be reconfirmed before booking. And I'll say this plainly: the total absence of structure — Naviva's whole selling point — was genuinely harder for me than I expected. When you can order literally anything at any time with no menu and no set schedule, it takes real effort to know what you want. Planning prior to your arrival is key for a great stay.
