Since 2013, Elli Travel Group has been working with the best Luxury Caribbean Hotels and Resorts. In this edition of Advisors Notebook, we are joined by Ultimate Jet Vacations, a long-trusted partner for our luxury advisors. In a recent Caribbean-focused discussion with Elli Travel Group's Juan Fernandez, Liz Guy — one of UJV’s Luxury Caribbean experts — shared her firsthand insights into Anguilla, the Dominican Republic, and St. Lucia. The result was a lively, insider look at how to match each Luxury Caribbean Island and hotel to the traveler.
Discover Anguilla: A Luxury Caribbean Paradise
Experience the best luxury accommodations in Anguilla, where pristine white sand beaches meet luxurious resorts. Enjoy breathtaking ocean views from your beachfront villa or suite, and indulge in the serenity of a private pool or an infinity pool overlooking the Caribbean. Anguilla is home to some of the top luxury hotels.
Featured Resorts: Belmond Cap Juluca, Four Seasons Anguilla, & Malliouhana
Belmond Cap Juluca
Liz began with her personal favorite, Belmond Cap Juluca, calling it “the top of the top — classic luxury, high-touch service, and one of the best beaches in the Caribbean.” She described the resort as “tranquil, intimate, and effortlessly elegant,” ideal for couples or families with older children who want serenity and sophistication. The sand is powdery white, the water impossibly clear, and the new spa adds to the resort’s sense of peaceful indulgence. But as Liz pointed out, Cap Juluca caters towards the beach enthusiasts over the pool-goers. Its main pool is intentionally small, reinforcing the beach as the true focus. “It’s a resort for guests who want to be steps from the ocean, not the pool deck,” she explained.

Four Seasons Anguilla
The opposite is where Four Seasons Anguilla shines. “If you have a family of pool lovers, Four Seasons wins every time,” Liz shared. With three distinct pools — including a lively family pool and an adults-only infinity option — it offers variety, space, and energy. She highlighted the property’s residences and multi-bedroom villas as a major selling point: “The villas are stunning — modern, spacious, and many have private pools. They’re perfect for families or multi-gen groups.”

Malliouhana
Malliouhana, by contrast, brings a splash of design-forward fun. “It’s the wild child sister,” Liz laughed. Perched on a cliff, it’s bright, colorful, and social — with a lively beach club next door and stylish spaces throughout. It’s not ideal for small children or those with mobility challenges, but it’s a perfect match for couples or groups who want energy, music, and sunset views.
Advisor Insight:
• Best Beach: Belmond Cap Juluca
• Best for Pool Families: Four Seasons Anguilla
• Most Stylish & Social: Malliouhana
Each hotel captures a different side of Anguilla — serene, active, or bold — and each offers its own version of barefoot luxury.
The Best Luxury Caribbean Hotels and Resorts in the Dominican Republic
Liz called the Dominican Republic “one of the Caribbean’s most versatile destinations,” with resorts that range from intimate boutique luxury to sprawling, activity-filled estates.
Featured Resorts: Eden Roc Cap Cana, Tortuga Bay, Casa de Campo
Eden Roc Cap Cana
She began with Eden Roc Cap Cana, which she likened to “the Caribbean’s version of Mayakoba.” Boutique in size but set within a vast gated community, the resort offers three distinct experiences: Luxury Suites surrounded by gardens, each with a private golf cart; Beachfront Suites and Bungalows just steps from the sand; and Multi-bedroom Villas for families and groups. “Eden Roc’s kids club is a game changer,” she emphasized. “They take potty-trained three-year-olds — something you almost never see in the Caribbean.” With modern design, thoughtful service, and a polished but unpretentious atmosphere, Eden Roc hits the sweet spot between elegance and family comfort.
Tortuga Bay
Next, Liz turned to Tortuga Bay, describing it as “quiet, classic, and beautifully bright.” Designed by Oscar de la Renta, its lemon-yellow buildings and white trim feel timeless and distinctly Caribbean. “Most of the clients I send here are 60-plus,” she shared. “It’s charming and personal — perfect for couples who just want peace and service.”
Casa de Campo
Casa de Campo, however, is an entirely different story. “It’s a world of its own — 7,000 acres, 25 restaurants, three golf courses, a marina, horseback riding, clay shooting, and a full spa,” Liz said. But she was also honest: “It’s a solid four-star property with five-star activities.” Casa de Campo’s villas are a major draw for multi-generational families, but Liz cautioned advisors about VRBO listings that look tempting online. “Those villas don’t include access to the resort’s pools, beach, or restaurants,” she warned. “Once guests realize that, it becomes an issue.” She also shared practical insights: the all-inclusive plan is commissionable if booked pre-arrival, and it’s flexible — guests can split their stay between à la carte and all-inclusive dining.

Advisor Insight:
• Eden Roc: Boutique, polished, and perfect for young families or couples wanting privacy.
• Tortuga Bay: Timeless elegance for mature travelers.
• Casa de Campo: A destination unto itself — ideal for golfers, active families, and guests who value experiences in a laid back atmosphere.
The Top Luxury Caribbean Hotels in St. Lucia
Featured Resorts: Sugar Beach (Viceroy), Jade Mountain, Cap Maison
Viceroy Sugar Beach
“Sugar Beach has such a chokehold on me — it’s my favorite resort in the Caribbean,” Liz confessed. Nestled between the UNESCO-listed Gros and Petit Pitons, the setting is cinematic. Every room features a private plunge pool, and the design blends colonial charm with contemporary luxury. “It’s rare to find a resort that truly works for everyone — couples, families, even guests with mobility issues,” she noted. The Rainforest Spa, built into the jungle with thatched-roof treatment rooms, and a new, state-of-the-art fitness center elevate the experience. The beach, while public, remains tranquil, with locals respectful of resort guests. “If that’s the worst thing we can say, we’re doing pretty good,”.

Jade Mountain
Jade Mountain, on the other hand, is the island’s architectural icon — a bold, open-air adults-only sanctuary. “It’s a high-end way to have a rustic experience,” she said. With three-walled rooms, sweeping views, and large private pools, it’s ideal for adventurous couples. There’s no AC and lots of stairs — so its for very specific clients who enjoy a sense of adventure and nature.
Cap Maison
For guests who prefer accessibility and a livelier setting, Cap Maison in the north offers a refreshing contrast. “It’s Mediterranean-meets-Caribbean,” Liz said, pointing to its terracotta roofs, wrought-iron balconies, and warm atmosphere. The Naked Fisherman restaurant anchors the beachfront, while rooftop plunge-pool suites and multi-bedroom villas make it versatile for both couples and families. Liz often pairs Cap Maison and Sugar Beach for a split stay: “Three nights at Cap Maison for food and culture, four nights at Sugar Beach for relaxation and views.” Transfers between north and south can be long and winding so she recommends helicopter or boat transfers to save time and sanity.
Advisor Insight:
• Sugar Beach: The ultimate all-rounder — luxury, family-friendly, and unforgettable scenery.
• Jade Mountain: For honeymooners or couples who love adventure and seclusion.
• Cap Maison: For foodies and families seeking culture, comfort, and convenience in the north.
Together, these resorts showcase St. Lucia’s dual personality — dramatic and daring in the south, relaxed and refined in the north.
Selecting the Perfect Luxury Caribbean Hotel
From Anguilla’s tranquil coves to St. Lucia’s volcanic peaks, the Caribbean remains a mosaic of luxury experiences — but knowing which resort is right for you makes all the difference. As Liz summed up: “Every hotel has its own heartbeat. The key is understanding what you want from your vacation — whether you crave energy, peace, or a bit of both.”
